We the Undersigned, having spent a bunch of time this year asking you to help prop up your fellows in this specific community, are going to mix it up a little bit for this holiday season…
Our Editor Emil Ottoman has put the call out for this one:
For 45 years my father, Mike Schwartz, of Mike’s Bikes in Lexington Park, Maryland, has been running a Christmas Dinner Donation Drive.
Every year Mike’s Food Fund (under new management but I’ll never call it anything but what it is) gives out 2,000+ full Christmas dinners in their community. All anyone has to do is sign up and ask.
Here’s the ask:
“Education is the only real cure for poverty.” We certainly still haven’t found a better one.
Here’s what we want to do: Between now and Sunday 12/14, pass along any used (or new and cheap! your options are limitless!) books you can to:
MIKE’S BIKES
21310 Great Mills Rd.,
Lexington Park MD 20653
We deeply appreciate you.
FICTION IS CULTURE. We get to decide what that means, and as a community, We the Undersigned are pretty sure that we can all get behind more books for kids who need them.
Happy holidays, whatever holidays you are happy about.
Love,

I'm really hoping Thrift Books moves quickly. Hurry up, little books!
Class. Thanks for posting this.
If anyone is sending books via USPS, send “media mail,” should save a few bucks.
